Our editorial standards
Financing Your Way is an independent resource center for the consumer financing industry. We write for merchants and operators, not bankers. Here is exactly how we do it.
What we publish
Two kinds of articles run on this site, each clearly labeled at the top of the page:
- Curated coverage — short summaries of stories first reported elsewhere. Every curated article links back to the original publisher, names the source, and exists to give merchants a faster way to scan what is moving in the industry.
- Original reporting — long-form analysis, playbooks, and explainers written from scratch by the Financing Your Way editorial team.
Sourcing
Curated items come from a tracked list of industry publications and primary sources: PYMNTS, Finextra, Retail Dive, the CFPB, public lender disclosures, court records, and regulator press releases. We do not curate from press release wires that we cannot verify.
AI assistance
Curated summaries on this site are AI-assisted and editorially reviewed. That means a large-language model produces a first-draft summary in our editorial voice from public reporting, and a human editor reviews it for accuracy and tone before it is published. Original reporting is written by humans; we use AI only for spell-check, outline support, and research.
We do not invent facts, quotes, or sources. If a story cannot be tied back to a verifiable publisher or document, it does not run.
Independence
We cover lenders we have business relationships with and lenders we do not. Coverage is not for sale. A lender being mentioned, profiled, or compared on this site is not an endorsement, and a lender being absent is not a slight — it usually means we have not gotten to them yet.
Corrections
If you spot an error — a wrong number, a misattribution, an outdated program detail, anything — tell us and we will fix it. Substantive corrections are noted at the bottom of the article with the date of the fix.
